Registration for the 2018 Jonesboro Open began on January 1.  From January first to February sixth, 68 pro players, 56 MPO and 12 FPO, have announced they are coming to Jonesboro for the championship.  Including in the 56 MPO are five of the current Top 10 Players in the world including defending 2-Time World Champion and Jonesboro Open Champion (tied #1) Ricky Wysocki.  Also planning to be here are  4-Time World Champion (tied #1) Paul McBeth and defending United States Disc Golf Champion (#3) Nate Sexton.  The other Top 10 players signed up as of February 6 are (#6) Chris Dickerson and (#10) Jeremy Koling.

In other exciting news the 2017 Jonesboro Open showcased players from 23 different states and two foreign countries.  So far in 2018 players from 27 states, one from Canada and four from Finland have signed up for the event.  There is potential to reach a maximum field which would be 104 MPO and 24 FPO and organizers are hoping that comes to pass.  Tournament Director Brad Pietz said, “I am very excited with the results so far but I want us to max out the field to put on the best show we can for Jonesboro.  I know of about ten-to-twelve more players that have told us they are coming and just have not signed up yet.”

The 2018 Jonesboro Open will be held on April 6, 7 & 8 at Disc Side of Heaven, located near Ridgefield Christian School.  The public is invited to come out and watch all weekend.
